consent merger agreement

a type of supervisory agreement in which the board of directors of a troubled savings institution agrees to have the Office of Thrift Supervision arrange for a merger of the troubled institution into another institution. Such arrangements were formerly called consent agreements or consent resolutions, but in the late 1980s they began to be handled as a type of supervisory agreement. See supervisory agreement.
